However, before the age of ten, girls bite their nails more often.

Most of the time, you can tell that people need remedies for nail-biting when the tips of their fingers have been chewed down. People who chew on their nails badly will sometimes have red fingertips. Although there is no medication for fingernail biting, it’s important to note that there are a few different tricks that you can use that can help you break this habit. First of all, keep your nails trimmed down. The longer your nails are, the more likely you are to bite them. Some people find that wearing artificial nails helps them from wanting to chew on their nails. This can help strengthen your nails by letting them grow out a bit. The next thing that you have to do can control your stress and anxiety. If you can do this, then you can put an end to fingernail biting at the source of the problem. After all, most people bite on their nails as a way to remove stress from their bodies.

Home Remedies

Home remedies for nail-biting are some of the most looked-for things on the internet. One of the most common, and most useful, ways that people find is to get involved in other activities. Try things like drawing or even playing video games. As long as you have your hands doing something, you are not chewing on your nails. Some people find that carrying things with them, like a stress ball or silly putty, keeps them from chewing on their nails as well. Other home remedies for nail-biting have you wear gloves. These gloves keep you from biting on your fingernails without meaning to. One of the best nail-biting home remedies has to do with psychology. The trick is to wear a rubber band around your wrist. Every time you start to bite your nails, snap your wrist. This is going to hurt, but psychology has proven that having a negative physical reaction to something can train the brain not to do that.


Biting your nails is not the end of the world. However, it is not a good habit to get into. They say that this habit has been replaced by other habits nowadays. For example, you may chew on other parts of your body instead of your nail. If that is the case, then you can still use some of the tricks that we talked about to help you quit doing that. Remember, the best way to get over biting on yourself is to give your body a negative physical reaction.
